The seaside town of Southport is in mourning after a horrifying knife attack at a children's holiday club on Monday. Three children lost their lives in the ambush, described by witnesses as a "horror movie." Merseyside Police have identified the victims as six-year-old Bebe King, seven-year-old Elsie Dot Stancombe, and nine-year-old Alice Dasilva Aguiar, who died in the hospital this morning.
Five other children and two adults injured in the Hart Street incident remain in critical condition. Leanne Lucas, 35, the yoga instructor hosting the Taylor Swift-themed class, is fighting for her life in the hospital after trying to protect the children.
Ms. Lucas and her co-organizer are credited with saving 16 of the 25 children, aged between six and eleven, attending the class.
Armed police arrived at the community center, Hart Space Studios, at 11:47am following reports of the knife attack and declared it a 'major incident.' The terrifying ordeal saw "injured and bleeding" children running for their lives, with emergency services treating them in neighboring gardens.
