South Lanarkshire residents who sign up to pay council tax via Direct Debit will be entered into a prize draw to win a year’s free council tax.The council annually opens a prize draw to win a year’s break from council tax payments to residents who sign up to pay through Direct Debit.Residents must sign up to pay through Direct Debit by April 1 to be entered into the prize draw.

If locals are already paying that way they will be entered automatically.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.

Direct Debits may need up to 14 days to be set up.There is no need to cancel Direct Debit payments after January payments and start it again in April, the Direct Debit can be left running but no payments will be taken in February or March.
