South Lanarkshire Council pledges to boost tourism in the area as levels have not recovered since the pandemic.An update on tourism was given to councillors on the community and enterprise resources committee, the council committed to attracting visitors to the area as tourism is a key employer in South Lanarkshire.Despite employing 3,483 full time employees, welcoming 1.46 million tourists and generating £266 million, councillors were warned that the sector is yet to fully recover to pre-pandemic levels, with many businesses struggling to trade viably.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.
