Dane Partridge, an Idaho father and U.S. Army veteran, died this week while "fighting for freedom in Ukraine," his family announced.  His father, Dennis Partridge, wrote on Facebook on Saturday that his son was in a coma after being critically injured by a Russian tank blast.  Dane Partridge died while fighting in Ukraine when he was struck by a Russian tank round, his family said.  (Facebook/Honoring Dane Partridge) Partridge was being treated at Kyiv military hospital and was taken off life support on Tuesday, his family announced.  "He was a fine soldier who fought with valor and bravery on the battlefield," his family wrote on Facebook.

A 26-year-old woman plunged to her death from the rooftop bar of a hotel in Times Square Wednesday afternoon, according to police.  NYPD officers responded to a 911 call just before 3:30 p.m. regarding an "aided individual" at the Hyatt Centric Hotel on 135 West 45 Street.  The Hyatt Centric in Times Square.  (WNYW) Upon arrival, the officers found a woman unconscious and unresponsive on a 27th-floor balcony with injuries indicating she had fallen from a great height.  EMS responded and pronounced the woman deceased on scene.

A Dallas Police Department officer died from injuries he sustained in a car wreck shortly before midnight on Tuesday evening when a wrong-way driver crashed into him.  Officer Jacob Arellano, 25, was on his way to work in southern Dallas when a sedan traveling the wrong way hit the officer's vehicle head on, sending the officer's vehicle into a tractor trailer and causing it to flip several times.  Dallas Police Department Officer Jacob Arellano, 25, died from injuries he sustained in a car crash.  (Dallas Police Department) He was transported to a hospital in critical condition and died from his injuries at 9:40 a.m. on Wednesday.  The driver, who police say might have been intoxicated, was transported to a hospital in serious condition.  Officer Arellano is survived by his parents, girlfriend, infant child, and brother, who is also a Dallas police officer.  "Here is an officer driving to work to protect our city in full uniform when his life was taken," Dallas Police Chief Eddie Garcia said outside the hospital in a video taken by Fox 4 Dallas.

A Florida man is charged with kidnapping after he stole a truck with two young children inside, authorities said Monday.  Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Deputy Jonathan Pazmino Alvarez was flagged down in Tampa Monday evening by a man who said his truck had just been stolen with his two children – ages 4 and 8 – inside.  Bodycam footage showing the arrest of Kevin Smith (Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office) Deputy Alvarez pursued the allegedly stolen 2011 white Chevrolet Silverado and conducted a traffic stop "within just a few minutes," the sheriff’s deputy said in a press release.  The sheriff’s office identified the suspect as 37-year-old Kevin Smith. A California man was kidnapped in broad daylight and remains missing as of Sunday afternoon, according to local reports and police.  The Los Angles County Sheriff’s Department (LASD) said two male suspects exited a 2008 silver Infiniti G-35 on Michillinda Avenue near Colorado Boulevard in the Pasadena area Thursday.  Stills of the suspected kidnapping suspects.  (LASD) The suspects were seen attacking a man on a sidewalk and dragging him into the back seat of the Infiniti, FOX 11 reported, citing LASD.  The suspects were last seen driving south on Michillinda Avenue with California license plate number 6FMY326. Anyone with information is asked to call 562-946-7150.  Fox News has reached out to the sheriff’s department for updates in this case.  The kidnapping came just days after a California family that were kidnapped at gunpoint and were missing for days were found dead.  Merced County Sheriff Vern Warnke said on Wednesday that their "worst fears have been confirmed" as deputies found the bodies of each of the four family members, including the 8-month-old.

A former high school teacher and coach allegedly had sex with a 17-year-old student on multiple occasions, both at his house and at the school, court records say.  Steven Mesa, 47, was arrested last month and charged with three felony counts of unlawful sexual relations with a student.  A mugshot of Steven Mesa.
