Singer Sophie Ellis-Bextor has finally spoken up about the longstanding rumored 'feud' with Victoria Beckham which stems from a chart competition back in 2000.
Despite going head-to-head in the UK charts, the "Murder on the Dancefloor" singer confessed to feeling a bit 'unnerved' by an element of the whole situation.
Opening up to AnOther Magazine, Sophie explained that there was no actual beef behind the scenes: "As I'm sure you would probably imagine there wasn't anything real going on behind the scenes.
And we did a show together around the time that Groovejet came out, actually. I went and knocked on her door and we had a little chat." She clarified the air over the supposed drama with the Spice Girl, saying, "She is someone that is very savvy as to how the press work and I was the one that was more unnerved by the scale of it." Additionally, in a nod to music enthusiasts who remember that iconic chart battle, Sophie reminisced on Gabby Logan's Mid Point podcast earlier this year: "Some of it was about genre; this was at a time when house music was just crossing over to being commercial.
