An inquest has revealed the tragic circumstances in which a "loving" and "sociable" grandfather was found deceased in a car park, leaving his family dumbfounded.Noel Brown, from Stoke, known as a devoted "family man", was a regular visitor to his mother's house and a familiar face in local pubs, enjoying a wide social network.
The 64-year-old former publican appeared to be his usual self shortly before and on the morning of his sudden passing.Recently, he had been celebrating a birthday meal and had joyfully bought a foosball table for his grandchildren. His daughter said her father was "quite a private person" who seldom shared difficulties with others.
Before last Christmas, he busied himself working "a lot" in a factory while also looking after his ailing long-term partner. "I think we all noticed but didn't say to him he was struggling with her needs," she disclosed.
Following Noel's death, the disarray of his domestic life came to light, showing uncompleted DIY tasks and neglected household duties - a stark contrast to the tidy front room where he warmly received visitors, reports the Mirror.
