Actress Jennifer Wilson who appeared in Coronation Street, Casualty and Doctors has died aged 89. A family friend shared the sad news that she'd passed away at her home in France last week.

Jennifer, who was born in London on 25 April 1932, played Kate Nickleby in the 1957 BBC adaptation of Nicholas Nickleby. She played Detective Sergeant Helen Webb in ITV's series Special Branch from 1969 and is best known for her role as Jennifer Kingsley in the 70s BBC series The Brothers.

Jennifer starred in all seven series of Brothers which ran between 1972 and 1976. She appeared in the hospital A&E drama Casualty and had a recurring role in the BBC soap Doctors as Nancy Milne. And in Coronation Street she played Mrs Bradbury in an emotional episode screened on October 17 2014. Viewers saw much-loved cafe owner Roy Cropper returned to Blackpool to scatter his late wife Hayley's ashes.
