The SNP would be tipped to gain seats at Westminster if a UK General Election was held tomorrow, a new poll has found. According to a Panelbase survey Nicola Sturgeon 's party could increase its MPs in the House of Commons by five from 48 seats to 53.
The survey conducted for the Sunday Times asked 1,781 voters in Scotland between November 9 and 12 their views on independence with support rising by one per cent, however the No campaign still leads by two percentage points.
Backing for the Nationalists is up one since September to 48 per cent, while the sleaze scandal has hit the Tories hard with a slip in support by two per cent to 21 per cent.Anas Sarwar's Labour Party has risen by one per cent to 20 per cent with the Lib Dems unchanged
