Temperatures are expected to plummet over the coming days with parts of the UK set to experience lows of -5C. The plunging temperatures will come alongside heavy snowfall, with the majority of regions across the UK expected to be hit by heavy snow before January comes to an end.
Scotland will be the first to experience the freezing conditions, with snow set to fall on the morning of Friday 28 January, according to forecasters from WXCharts.
However the icy temperatures will soon make their way south, and by 6pm on the same day Newcastle will be hit by snowfall and plummeting temperatures.
