Taylor Swift

Taylor Alison Swift is an American singer-songwriter. She is known for narrative songs about her personal life, which have received widespread media coverage. At age 14, Swift became the youngest artist signed by the Sony/ATV Music publishing house and, at 15, she signed her first record deal.

Her 2006 eponymous debut album was the longest-charting album of the 2000s in the US. Its third single, "Our Song", made her the youngest person to single-handedly write and perform a number-one song on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. Swift's second album, Fearless, was released in 2008.

Buoyed by the pop crossover success of the singles "Love Story" and "You Belong with Me", it became the US' best-selling album of 2009 and was certified diamond in the US. The album won four Grammy Awards, and Swift became the youngest Album of the Year winner.

Snow falls across Scotland as temperatures plummet and more predicted tonight

Scots woke up to snow on Thursday morning as the Met Office extended a yellow weather warning. A flurry of the white stuff fell across Northern and Eastern parts of the country with more predicted tonight as temperatures continue to drop.The Met Office has issued the weather warning for snow and ice across most parts of Scotland, including the Highlands, Grampian, Tayside and Fife, Strathclyde and Orkney and Shetland.

The warning will last until 12pm tomorrow, Friday, December 9.A further yellow weather warning for snow and ice in Grampian, Highlands, Tayside and Fife will remain in place through to Sunday, December 11.

Temperatures are expected to fall to as low as -10C in some areas this week.Gritters were out in force as councils battled to keep roads open in the worst affected areas.

Traffic Scotland reported a number of roads were closed due to the snowfall.The Highlands and Aberdeenshire were hit hardest by the Arctic freeze, with residents in Largue, Aberdeenshire, even reporting lightning.In Perthshire the A93 from Glenshee to Braemer was closed and in Moray the A939 from Tomintoul was also shut down.Pictures taken on Thursday morning show a dog walker wearing a full snow suit as she attempts to wade through the white stuff.
