A former soldier has been jailed after he was caught trying to take cocaine wraps into a family music festival while on licence from prison.
Aaron Diplock was arrested after sniffer dogs caught him trying to bring a stash of drugs into the In It Together festival in Port Talbot's Margam Park, Wales.
The 26-year-old threw the cocaine to a friend before trying to run off. Officers quickly detained the former soldier, who was on licence having been released after serving seven months of a two-year sentence for Class A drug trafficking.Wales Online reports Diplock was caught after trying to pass through the "drug test tent" on May 27 where a sniffer dog indicated the presence of controlled substances.
He was found to have 11 wraps of cocaine, £725 and two mobiles phones which were found to contain messages about the supply of drugs.Diplock had thrown the drugs to a friend before attempting to flee but later admitted his friend had "nothing to do with it" and when cautioned he replied, "yeah, sound".
