Steve Harwell is reportedly passing away soon. The 56-year-old Smash Mouth star has been battling medical complications for years, and his family is preparing to say goodbye as he enters his final days, via TMZ.

A manager for the Smash Mouth lead singer tells the outlet that Steve has been struggling with alcohol abuse throughout his life, and has reached the final stage of liver failure. Keep reading to find out more… He had been receiving treatment at a hospital, and he is now in hospice at home, where his friends and loved ones have gathered over the past three days. Steve‘s manager says he likely has only a week or so to live.

This news comes almost two years after an on-stage incident, where he appeared incredibly disoriented during a live performance, slurring his words and yelling at the audience, resulting in him declaring his retirement.

At the time, it was reported he’d been battling cardiomyopathy, heart failure and Wernicke’s encephalopathy. Smash Mouth had huge hits in the early ’00s with tracks like “All Star” and “I’m a Believer.” We are thinking of Steve Harwell and his loved ones at this incredibly difficult time.
