A Smash Mouth concert that took place earlier this month is now being linked to a sharp rise in coronavirus cases in the US.

Fingers are being pointed at the band after frontman Steve Harwell, 53, chanted "f**k Covid" during the mask-free gig. Since the concert, more than 100 have been diagnosed with the deadly bug as goers headed to a packed gig on August 9th in South Dakota.

Lead singer Steve was heard yelling: "F**k that Covid s**t. Now we're all here together tonight." Earlier this week, a spokesperson for the North Dakota Department of Health confirmed that 17 cases directly related to the rally had been identified in the state.
