Sister Promotes ‘Black Doves’ Exec Producer Chris Fry to Managing Director

Alex Ritman Sister, the fast-rising studio and indie TV powerhouse behind shows such as “Black Doves,” “Kaos,” “Chernobyl” and “This is Going to Hurt,” has promoted Chris Fry to the newly-created role of managing director.

Previously serving as Sister’s joint creative director of scripted, Fry will now be responsible for the execution and delivery of the company’s television slate, working closely with the creative, production and business teams.

He will continueto report into chief creative officer and co-founder Jane Featherstone. Since joining Sister in 2017, Fry has spearheaded and executive produced many of their most successful scripted series, including the BAFTA and Emmy-winning “Chernobyl,” Bafta nominated “Landscapers” for SKY/ HBO, BAFTA winning “Giri/Haji” for BBC/Netflix and, most recently, “Black Doves” and “Kaos” also for Netflix.

Upcoming projects for Fry include David Ireland’s “Cold Water” for ITV starring Andrew Lincoln and the second season of “Black Doves.” “We are thrilled to have Chris step up into the role of Managing Director,” said Featherstone. “Chris’ experience and knowledge of making high end television is unparalleled.
