Jose Mourinho recently revealed on Tottenham's All or Nothing Amazon documentary that the legendary former manager advised him to move for Dele Alli when he was in charge at Old Trafford.
When Mourinho returned to management with Spurs, he was expected to build his team around the man Ferguson labelled the "best young midfielder" since Paul Gascoigne just a few years ago.
Instead, things have gone sour for Alli and Mourinho. The playmaker was hauled off at half-time of Tottenham's defeat to Everton on the opening day of the Premier League season.
