Sinéad O’Connor has revealed her retirement from music and touring in an announcement made on Twitter. After a long career, the Irish singer, 54, confirmed her upcoming 11th album, No Veteran Dies Alone, will go ahead in January 2022 but that it would be her last.

In a series of tweets posted on Friday, she told her 83,000 followers that she was tired and it was “time to put the feet up and make other dreams come true”.

The artist, who also goes by the name Shuhada Sadaqat after her conversion to Islam, said: “This is to announce my retirement from touring and from working in the record business.
