But fear not – this doesn't mean your nails need to look grim for a month. One woman has shared a way to make your at-home mani last even longer – and it even looks salon-quality.

Social media user Kate, aka @follow_my_nail_journey, took to the Boots Instagram to share "A fresh set on a budget," admitting that she got a "boost of confidence" when her nails were looking good. She said that she had the "perfect hack to make them last until payday," which is still weeks away for many. Kate started by painting a base coat onto her nails.
