The music mogul and TV star paused auditions for the next series of the ITV show following the sudden death of Liam Payne. Former One Direction member Liam passed away at 31, suffering a fatal fall from a hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in October.
Simon helped put together the globally successful band on The X Factor in 2010 and was left devastated by Payne's shock passing.
He was seen in November attending the singer's funeral alongside partner Lauren Silverman, with pictures later showing him in tears while speaking with Payne's parents.
