X Factor judge had a near-death experience for the second time in February 2022. He was immediately rushed to a London hospital after once again being thrown over the handlebars of his e-bike while going 20 mph and not wearing a helmet.

That accident came 18 months after his last e-bike crash in Los Angeles which led to him breaking his back.In a recent interview with the , Cowell revealed that in a weird way he's glad both those terrible injuries happened. “That accident on my bike was pretty horrendous and I had a trainer to get me through it otherwise I'd never heal properly,” he explained. “Now I'm fitter than I was before.

So I'm kind of happy it happened, weirdly. It's like it was meant to be.” Going through all of that also led him to seek out talk therapy for the first time in his life after he noticed he was feeling “very, very, very, low.
