Liam James Payne (born 29 August 1993) is an English singer and songwriter.
He rose to fame as a member of the boy band One Direction.
Payne made his debut as a singer when he auditioned for the British television series The X Factor in 2008. After being eliminated as a solo performer, he auditioned again in 2010 and was put into a group with four other contestants to form One Direction
Simon Cowell is postponing production on the upcoming season of Britain’s Got Talent following the tragic death of Liam Payne.
The TV boss paused auditions Thursday (October 17) following the death of the boy band and solo star, who was part of One Direction, the group first launched by Simon on The X Factor.
A spokesperson for Fremantle UK said, via BBC‘s Pete Allison: “Due to the tragic passing of Liam Payne, we have decided to postpone the Britain’s Got Talent auditions.

Ant and Dec, who host Britain’s Got Talent, were pictured leaving a hotel in Lancashire where the show was supposed to be filmed. Simon created both Britain’s Got Talent and The X Factor. Liam Payne‘s family also just released a statement.
