Simon Phillip Cowell (born 7 October 1959) is an English television personality, businessman and record executive. He has judged on the British television talent competition series Pop Idol (2001–2003), The X Factor (2004–2010, 2014–present) and Britain's Got Talent (2007–present), and the American television talent competition series American Idol (2002–2010), The X Factor (2011–2013), and America's Got Talent (2016–present). Cowell is the principal, founder and chief executive of the British entertainment company Syco.

Simon Cowell needed six hours of surgery after breaking his back in a bike accident in Malibu, according to reports. The 60-year-old star is said to have suffered numerous fractures after falling off his new electric bike he was testing out.A close friend has claimed to The Mirror that although Simon's back was broken in several places, he narrowly missed breaking his spinal cord "by a centimetre" which would may have meant he was unable to walk again.A source told the publication: "I spoke to him before the surgery and he was in incredible, ridiculous amounts of pain and also in shock.
