Electronic music pioneer Simeon Coxe has died. The Silver Apples star was 82. He died yesterday in Fairhope, Alabama, local reports say.
It's reported that the star had a progressive lung condition, pulmonary fibrosis. The musical innovator jammed with Hendrix during his career and inspired others to pick up instruments and form bands.
Simeon was a founding member of electronic duo Silver Apples, known for tracks Lovefingers, Anthem and You And I. His obituary, posted on AL.com, says he died on September 8.
It read: "He was an artist and a news reporter-producer for WKRG, TV, Mobile, AL in the 1970’s, as well as other out of state TV stations in the 70’s and 80’s. "He is famously best known worldwide for his seminal work in electronic music
