Sigourney Weaver In Talks To Join New ‘Star Wars’ Movie ‘The Mandalorian & Grogu’

deadline.comSigourney Weaver is in talks to return to space for a key role in the next Star Wars movie, The Mandalorian & Grogu. Jon Favreau is directing the film as well as producing alongside Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy and chief creative officer Dave Filoni.
Production is slated to start later this year in advance of an expected release date of May 22, 2026. Plot details are unknown as well who Weaver will be playing.
Lucasfilm had no comment. This will mark the first Star Wars film since 2019’s Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, which grossed $1 billion worldwide.
For Weaver, this marks yet another quest to deep space following her smash hits with the Alien and Avatar franchises. She is repped by UTA.
