It's not been a vintage 2024/25 for Manchester United so far, but there have already been signs of progress since the arrival of Ruben Amorim in November.

After Ruud van Nistelrooy's brief stint in caretaker charge, Amorim was brought in as United's new head coach. The Portuguese has wasted no time in looking to bring an identity to United - something that was sorely lacking under Ten Hag - and the January transfer window is another opportunity for him to make his mark at the club.

The mid-season window doesn't often see clubs make wholesale changes to their squads, but with two months at Old Trafford under his belt Amorim might feel he has no option but to delve into the market as he looks to address some problem positions.
