A man has been arrested after a triple shooting where staff in a newsagents were allegedly threatened and a Showcase Cinema locked down.A major incident was declared in Liverpool last night after a gunman fired shots in three different locations in the city.
Police initially descended onto Sangha's newsagents on Lower House Lane after the suspect allegedly threatened the store assistant with his weapon.The Liverpool Echo reports he allegedly demanded cash before firing a gun and leaving the store empty-handed.
Shocking footage emerged from the newsagents showing a man seemingly wearing flip-flops, entering the shop carrying a large gun.
Police confirmed while the shop assistant escaped uninjured, they were left "extremely distressed" by the incident. Later on, officers received further reports shots had been fired outside the Showcase Cinema in Croxteth, leading to a lockdown as a hunt was launched for the man - who was said to have fled in a car.A third report of gunfire was reported to officers at around 10.20pm before the 49-year-old male suspect was arrested at 5am this morning.
