Vulnerable residents forced to stay indoors by COVID-19 won’t go hungry thanks to the efforts of a community organisation.Staff at Getting Better Together (GBT) in Kirk Road, Shotts, have been busy preparing hundreds of cooked meals and delivering them directly to the doors of those in need.The organisation is using every means of transport available to them, including an electric bike, to reach out to those in need.And they’re also making sure that they’re able to remain in communication with the outside world while in isolation.June Vallance, executive manager at GBT, said: “We’ve kept the centre open and we are manning it, but there are no classes or anything running so we decided to put wellbeing calls in place.
