Marks and Spencer’s shoppers have been rushing to buy the high street giant’s latest spring jacket, calling it the perfect dupe for a Chanel one that costs thousands of pounds more.Tweed jackets have long been a wardrobe staple for many, and offer the perfect balance of dressy and casual which means you can wear them with just about anything, and M&S have given their shoppers the perfect easy to wear version.
Whilst Chanel’s signature tweed jackets can set you back anything from £5,000 upwards, the Marks and Spencer Pure Cotton Tweed Collarless Short Jacket, £69 here, will cost you considerably less. The M&S version mimics the same hip length boxy shape that makes the Chanel one so timeless, whilst also offering a collarless neckline and raw hems that stop it looking too formal.
The M&S jacket is also made from 100% cotton, meaning it’s lightweight and breathable and perfect for the warmer months.
Currently the jacket is available in all sizes from 6-24, and comes in either navy or cream, although shoppers are already eager for more colours to be made available. “This is the sort of jacket that I would happily buy in multiple colours,” commented one fan, with another adding: “Love it pity you don’t do more like this!”.
