A man on trial accused of plotting a shooting which ended with a woman being shot dead in her own home may have been fuelled a years old feud, a murder trial heard.
Ashley Dale was gunned down in her home in Liverpool after a man broke in and opened fire with a Skorpion sub-machine gun, the Echo reports.
Prosecutors said that the intended target was her boyfriend Lee Harrison. They told jurors at Liverpool Crown Court that the motivation for the shooting was 'not straightforward to explain' but may have came from a feud with the 'Hillsiders' group.
Niall Barry, 26, aka 'Branch', is one of three men accused of "dispatching" a gunman to assassinate Harrison, his former friend, nicknamed 'Saz'.
