The attack, which took place on Birch Lane at around 7.15pm on April 28, resulted in a man being ‘scalped’ — who was later taken to hospital for surgery on serious head, neck, and back injuries.
24 hours on from the attack, the Manchester Evening News spoke to several nearby residents who said the incident is out of character for the area. “Normally it’s quiet,” Samantha Smith said.
