Shirley Ballas, 61, has revealed that she was told by her son to "drop the walls" whilst judging on Strictly Come Dancing.The former dancer has been head judge since Led Goodman's departure in 2017.Shirley herself specialises in International Latin Dance and has won several dancing championships.The head judge's impressive dancing background however has not stopped her being "guarded".Speaking to Prima, Shirley said when asked about her role in the BBC favourite: "I’m learning to be myself more on the show."That’s something my son Mark said to me, 'I need to drop the walls because people can spot it when you’re being guarded'."They see right through it, so I might as well be the real me."Shirley has been very open recently about her history.
