Shania Twain on 'sour' relations with 'religious' Oprah Winfrey after chat turned awkward

Oprah Winfrey.The star said all was going swimmingly, at least, until the subject of religion was brought up. Shania had sat down for a podcast interiew on Table Manners with Jessie and Lennie Ware to promote her latest single, Waking Up Dreaming.

The Canadian-born singer told how things "soured" fast when speaking to Oprah, 68. She said she began to sense some disagreement between the two of them when religion was brought up.

Shania referred to the conversation as "one of her most memorable". "It was great to just have real talks, but as soon as we started talking about religion, it all went sour," Shania confessed.

The country singer referred to the talk show host as a "smart lady."Speaking about her own position on the matter, she clarified she was "spiritual" rather than religious.She added: "There was no room for debate, and I like to debate.
