Celtic duo Ryan Christie and Callum McGregor lead the way in the nominations for the Scottish Football Writer’s Association international player of the year.
The duo are listed alongside John McGinn and Steven Naismith as the writers shortlist their best performers for Steve Clarke’s side.
McGinn is arguably the favourite to win it after a tremendous year which included seven goals in six Scotland appearances for the Aston Villa midfielder.The former Hibs and St Mirren star scored a hat-trick against San Marino but a broken ankle left him in a race against time to be fit for the playoffs in March.They have been delayed until next year with football shut down due to the coronavirus and he’ll be a big boost to Clarke’s men for that game
