Former referee Steve Conroy has blasted the SFA decision to reject Aberdeen’s appeal over Graeme Shinnie’s Ross County red card. The ex-Grade 1 whistler says Euan Anderson should never have sent off Shinnie in the first place for his lunge on Staggies man Jack Baldwin and that the Dons feeling of injustice was then compounded by the authorities standing by that call and kicking out the appeal from Pittodrie.
And to rub salt in Aberdeen's wounds, skipper Shinnie had his ban increased to four games due to a the "frivolous" nature of their appeal which infuriated Dons chiefs.
Conroy reckons they were right to be angered and told T10 Digital: "Firstly, the fact that a red card was shown in first place and secondly, the SFA have deemed the appeal to overturn it as frivolous is beyond explanation.
No matter what anybody says I don’t believe for second that it was a sending off. It was two players tackling and they connected with each other.
