A serial Scots rapist who attacked multiple women throughout Aberdeen over a 15-year period has been jailed. Stephen Kidd, from Peterculter, showed "no remorse" for his crimes, and was convicted by a jury at the High Court in Edinburgh today.
The 36-year-old raped and abused women in and around the Granite City between June 2005 and August 2020. Kidd was also placed on the Sex Offenders Register.
He will be sentenced at a later date. Officers have praised the courage of the predator's victims for sharing their ordeals, and subsequently helping to bring Kidd to justice.
They also reminded the public that reports of sex crimes are always handled efficiently and sensitively, and that no one should hesitate to get in touch if they believe they have been on the receiving end of such a crime.Detective Inspector Gordon Patullo said: “Our thought are very much with Kidd’s victims and I hope that today’s verdict brings them some kind of closure and helps them to move forward.
