mirror.co.ukA Russian plumber, who confessed to the serial rape and murder of nine victims, has been found hanged in police custody. Andrey Yezhov, 53, originally from the city of Kashira in the western Russian region of Moscow Oblast, was detained in mid-June after an 88-year-old woman was discovered dead in her home with signs of having been raped.
Local media report Yezhov then confessed to the murder of the elderly woman along with the rape and murder of eight other women over the last 10 years.
The plumber also admitted to raping a 10-year-old girl who managed to escape in January this year. DNA tests had reportedly linked the plumber with the crime.
