Selma Blair has been granted a restraining order against her former boyfriend Ronald Carlson after claiming he physically and verbally assaulted her last month.The 49-year-old Legally Blonde actress filed for a protective order on February 25 as she alleged Carlson physically and verbally attacked her on February 22, for which he was arrested.In court documents obtained by TMZ and People, Blair claims Carlson, who she was in a relationship with for around seven years, came to her home to return a television set, with the visit coming just minutes after she’d finished multiple sclerosis treatment that had left her feeling weak.

After they returned their keys to one another, Blair claims she then told Carlson that she wasn’t feeling well. She alleges that he then verbally attacked her, calling her ‘f***ing useless’ and a ‘cripple’, adding: ‘I don’t f***ing deserve this, I can do so much better than you.’She claims that Carlson then became ‘enraged’ and that he physically attacked her ‘jumping on top of her body while she was lying prone on the sofa.’ She alleged that he ‘strangled her, throttling her and shaking her head and shoulders aggressively’.She said that she put her fingers in his eyes and mouth in self-defence while screaming to her housekeeper upstairs for help, but he allegedly covered her mouth and pushed her face ‘down into the coach’.She claimed she then lost consciousness briefly before another struggle which allegedly saw him slap her and push the side of her head ‘causing her to fall back to the floor and begin to bleed from her nose’.
