Selena Marie Gomez (born July 22, 1992) is an American singer, songwriter, actress, and television producer. After appearing on the children's series Barney & Friends (2002–2004), she received wider recognition for her portrayal of Alex Russo on the Emmy Award-winning Disney Channel television series Wizards of Waverly Place, which aired from 2007 until 2012.
Gomez also starred in the films Another Cinderella Story (2008), Princess Protection Program (2009), Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie (2009), Ramona and Beezus (2010), and Monte Carlo (2011). Thereafter, she focused on more mature roles in Spring Breakers (2012), Getaway (2013), The Fundamentals of Caring (2016), and The Dead Don't Die (2019). She voices the character of Mavis in the Hotel Transylvania film franchise, and serves as an executive producer of the Netflix television drama series 13 Reasons Why (2017–present) and the Netflix documentary series Living Undocumented (2019).
Selena Gomez is opening up about her family plans for the future. The 31-year-old spoke out in a new interview for TIME‘s 100 Most Influential Companies issue, where her company Rare Beauty is on the list.
In the interview, Selena opened up about having a plan to adopt a child at a certain age before meeting now boyfriend Benny Blanco, and she reacted to his recent comments about getting married and having kids with her. Keep reading to find out what she said… “I was alone for five years, and I got really used to it,” Selena said. “A lot of people are afraid of being alone and I probably tortured myself in my head for like two years being alone, and then I kind of accepted it.
Then I came up with my plan, which was I was going to adopt at 35 if I had not met anyone.” She added of when she realized she liked him, which happened when he brought her to meet a friend at a birthday party, and she said, “It just happens when you least expect it.” During a recent appearance on The Howard Stern Show, Benny said that the next goal in life is kids and he can see himself marrying Selena. “He can’t lie to save his life.
If he’s asked a question, he’ll answer it,” Selena told TIME of his opening up. “I just cherish every moment with him.
