Elvis Presley's private jet The Lockheed has been sold for an eye-watering $260,000 (£215k) at an auction.The airplane was originally purchased by the iconic singer in December 1976 for $840,000 less than one year before his tragic death in August 1977.
The 1962 Lockheed 1329 went up for auction at the Mecum Kissimmee Collector Car auction in Florida on 8 January 8, which would have been Elvis' 88th birthday.
The late Rock 'n' Roll legend's wife Priscilla Presley, 77, was in attendance at the auction, where the opening bid for the plane was £100,000, but offers soon began piling up.
The highest bidder received a copy of the aircraft security agreement signed by Elvis and a copy of the aircraft bill of sale documentation.The plane features a red exterior with matching velvet seats inside, paired with gold finish hardware and wood cabin panelling.There's also a kitchen area and lavatory onboard.
