An hidden underground street has been uncovered in Bristol. The story of a hidden street underneath the city's Lawrence Hill has been often shrugged off as a myth or legend.
But one historian has revealed that the legend is true.Dave Stephenson was fascinated by the idea of what could lie beneath the city's walkways and did some investigating.
The underground world stretches from Ducie Road to the Packhorse Pub with street lamps and shop front still allegedly identifiable, the Mirror reports. One story told of a man falling through a hole in the road after a few too many pints and found himself transported back in time.
According to Bristol Live, back in 1999 Dave and a couple of companions set out to discover the truth. They climbed down into the cobweb-encrusted enclave that lies buried beneath the road at Lawrence Hill and he returned with amazing photographic evidence of the eerie remains of a forgotten era.
