A second teen has been charged in connection with disorder which took place on Halloween, with police issuing a warning about potential trouble on Bonfire Night.
Officers were reportedly attacked in Edinburgh on Thursday October 31 with bricks and fireworks at Hay Avenue in Niddrie.One cop was said to have been injured when the window of the vehicle she was in was hit by a brick, causing the window to smash.
A 14-year-old was charged earlier this week after the trouble broke out and now cops have confirmed a 17-year-old has also been charged in connection.Police Scotland warned they are continuing investigating the events on Halloween and are urging locals to contact them with any concerns or intelligence.However with Bonfire Night also upcoming on Tuesday November 5, police confirmed they will deploy enhanced patrols and extra resources.
Firework Control Zones and Dispersal Orders will be available to officers across Scotland in an effort to half any public disorder.On Bonfire Night last year, riots broke out in the same Niddrie area with images showing petrol bombs thrown at police.
