A plush Scots restaurant favoured by footballers has been targeted in a second 'firebombing' overnight. Emergency services were called to the already-damaged Da Luciano’s in Bothwell shortly after midnight on Monday as the fire took hold.Video footage obtained by the Daily Record show flames ripping through the roof of the building as fire crews doused them with water.
Thick, black smoke billowed into the air as nearby residents were warned to keep their windows and doors closed. This is the second time the business has been targeted in a matter of weeks.
The Record previously told how emergency crews were called to the scene on July 18 after a fire was deliberately started.A source told the Record: “Last time, they petrol bombed the downstairs but the whole building didn’t go up.
It was only really smoke damage. But this time, the whole building is destroyed. There’s no roof left. It’s going to need to be demolished. “It looks like they’ve gone inside the building itself and poured an accelerant all over it.
