Bergerac and Grange Hill star Sean Arnold has died at the age of 79. The actor was best known for playing Superintendent Barney Crozier in the detective drama.
His co-star John Nettles has paid tribute to a best friend and actor who appeared alongside him during the hit 80s show. Sean also appeared in Grange Hill as headmaster Mr Llewellyn in the 1970s and 80s and a series of films.
But it was his role in the Jersey-set detective series for which he will be best remembered. Plaudits were led by John, who starred in the title role as Jim Bergerac.
