A Scottish photographer has won a top prize at a global photography competition.Lynne Ramsay, from the Isle of Skye, took home the Champagne Taittinger Wedding Food Photographer trophy at the 2024 Pink Lady® Food Photographer of the Year.
The awards celebrate the best food photography in the world, with thousands of entries submitted from more than 65 countries competing across dozens of categories.Ramsay won for her captivating image, Let Them Eat Cake!.
The photograph shows a couple and their children eating cake on the historic Sligachan Bridge after getting married.Commenting on the award-winning photograph, Ramsay said: "Lucy and Tony and their children made the long journey from Kent to the Isle of Skye to get married. "They didn't want to transport a traditional wedding cake all that way, so their cakemaker produced these fabulous little 'cakes in containers' for them.
We found a spot by the historical Sligachan Bridge and they tucked in!"Elsewhere, the overall winner of Pink Lady® Food Photographer of the Year 2024 is Red Bean Paste Balls by Chinese photographer Zhonghua Yang.
