Scottish Government announces 7 deaths and 2,190 new covid cases in last 24 hours

435 people are currently in hospital with 42 requiring intensive care as they battle the virus. This time last week 306 people were in hospital with 25 requiring intensive careA total of 309,665 Scots have now caught coronavirus since the start of the pandemic with 7,750 deaths recorded.3,920,145 people have now had their first dose of the vaccine while 2,861,110 have had their second.
The new figures come as Scotland’s ailing Test and Protect system has suffered another blow after an IT glitch hampered the vital service.
