Justin Thomas has fired into a shock rant after Scottie Scheffler revealed the number of strokes he gives friends on his home course.Thetwice PGA Championship winner didn't hold back when he responded to a question about fellow pros that have handicaps at their home clubs.
He stopped shy of branding the action disrespectful but admitted he would be 'p***ed' and said it is NOT something that happens in the game.
Thomas said: "It's definitely not common. I think it'd be pretty, I don't want to say disrespectful but I'd be pretty p***ed if like Scottie and I played a practice round and he was like, 'do you want a stroke on this nine?'"I mean it'd be like, 'what do I think of myself and what does he think of me if he's asked?' Honestly it would be a pretty good intimidation factor.
I definitely have some buddies that I have played with at home. That are, you know, maybe mini tours or stuff like that, people that I'm close enough with where I feel like I can say that and I'll just you know, ill be like, 'you want some strokes or what do you want?'"They kind of look at me and I know right then that I've already won the match because they, you know, that's what I think of them kind of thing."His rant comes after Scheffler – who endured a poor Open Championship at Troon – admitted to playing to a PLUS 7 when back home.
