Scott Tanser admits being serenaded by the St Mirren supporters has put a spring in his step this season. The Buddies wing-back was treated to his own tune by the black and white army during Wednesday night’s 4-2 defeat to Hibernian in the quarter-finals of the Viaplay Cup.
Easter Road echoed to ‘Oh Scotty Tanser runs down the wing for me’ – to the sound of Heartbeat by Buddy Holly – after the 28-year-old opened the scoring in the last-eight clash.
And Tanser – who has now netted twice in three games – believes his growing bond with the punters is improving his confidence and overall play as he reflected on the best goal he’s scored so far in his career.
He said: “I’ve always said the fans are massive and when they get behind you signing that song – it’s quite catchy as well – you start singing it in your head while you’re actually playing. “I know a few of the lads do too!
