A Scotsman's attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the fastest marathon while wearing a kilt was almost shattered by a broken sporran.
Stephen Molloy, 33, broke the current record by less than three minutes after running the Edinburgh Marathon in a full Highland dress on Sunday, May 26.
But his dreams were almost turned to dust when the chain for his sporran broke around 12km in. Stephen, originally from Aberdeen, told the Record: "It was a tough day.
It was good for the first 15 to 20km or so and then after that, it got pretty interesting - it was a struggle to say the least."At one point, I thought it was all over.
