A Scots teenager with autism and extreme social anxiety has had her life changed for the better thanks to an adorable assistance dog.
Anna Ples' 16-year-old daughter has struggled to socialise with others and even leave her home for the most part of her teenage years.
The 46-year-old was desperately trying to raise funds to buy a pooch from the Autism Dog charity, which trains the canines to meet specific requirements.The animals can provide deep pressure therapy, which sees them use their body weight to give owners a calming sensation when they feel distressed.
They can also remind handlers to take medication and stop their owners from harming themselves.Chocolate Labrador, Storm, joined the family's home in East Kilbride on December 10.
