Scotland is in for a stunning week next week, with temperatures nearing the 30s in some areas. Met Office forecasts say that Glasgow could reach 29C next Tuesday which would surpass the hottest day of the year so far, when temperatures hit 27.3 degrees in Aboyne, Deeside just four days ago.
Despite the blistering heat the Met Office have said that Tuesday will start off with sunny intervals but will change to cloudy in the late morning.
However, if Glasgow does hit 29C it would be hotter than Los Angeles, California which is set to be 26C on Tuesday according to Met Office forecasts. It wouldn't be too far off from Scotland's hottest day ever, which was recorded when Greycrook hit an unbelievable 32.9C on August 9, 2003.
An even hotter 33.2C degrees was measured at Strathclyde Park in Motherwell on Thursday, June 28, 2018, however the Met Office did not accept this temperature as they say that it could have been affected by a parked vehicle.
