Heartfelt tributes have been paid to a "gifted, kind and compassionate" Scots university professor after she died following a lengthy battle with coronavirus.
Academic Fiona Denison - a professor at the department of reproductive health at The University of Edinburgh - passed away on Sunday, January 9.
Tributes have flooded in from Fiona's friends and family following the devastating news. Her heartbroken brother Alan Denison, an NHS radiologist, lead the tributes on social media.Posting on Twitter, Alan said: "My sister Fiona Denison died yesterday following a long battle with Covid."A gifted, kind and compassionate obstetrician, researcher, teacher, academic, musician, friend, wife, mother, auntie and daughter.
RIP."Talented Fiona was also an Honorary Consultant Obstetrician at NHS Lothian.Floods of messages have come in from various friends of the respected academic following the news.Elin Haf Davies said: “Devastated to hear of the loss of Fiona.“A dedicated doctor and a director of the Tommy’s National Centre for Maternity Improvement, which works to prevent stillbirths and premature births across the UK, with so much more to give.
